A Pioneer Hut provides all the modern comforts of home, including air-conditioning, a private bathroom and balcony. You can spend the night in a turn-of-the-century railway carriage, beautifully restored with their own ensuite and shared deck, or in one of six recently erected homesteads, also featuring a/c, an ensuite and balcony. If sleeping in the great outdoors suits you better, there is a Swag Tent Village with beds and linen provided, a Safari Shelter designed for large groups, and a spacious caravan and camping area close to all amenities and BBQs.

Home to one of the world’s longest lava-tube cave systems, this amazing feature formed over 190,000 years ago when a sustained volcanic eruption spewed molten lava down a dry riverbed.
Easily accessible from the Savannah Way, Discovery Resorts - Undara is three and a half hours by car from Cairns. It features beautifully restored railway carriages as deluxe rooms, air-conditioned pioneer huts, homestead style rooms, a swag tent village and spacious powered caravan and camping site.
Tours and activities are central to staying at Undara, and a 2 hour tour of the lava tubes is a must-do with the park’s experienced guides. Wildlife at Sunset tours are also popular with a glass of bubbles in hand.
