When visiting the team at Discovery Parks – Pambula Beach there is no better way of exploring the region than to get those legs moving and jump on a bike. For the Beginner
Just up the road from Discovery Parks you’ll find 77 hectares of protected freshwater billabongs, salt marsh and grassy plains bursting with bird life. Panboola is a popular scenic destination for all bike riders! You could even consider using the bike track to ride from the park to Panboola, which is only a 4km ride and can be easily enjoyed by the whole family. Pack yourself a delicious and nutritious picnic for the ride and decide on the best spot to begin your feast or use the picnic area equipped with benches and tables. Easy tracks weaving through this natural wetland on to an historical racecourse… an ideal location for young budding riders to find their feet!
Something More Challenging Required?
Not a problem. Ride from our park to the beautiful seaside Merimbula on the popular shared bike track stretching 10km each way, something for the slightly more experienced rider. Enjoy a coffee on the way at one of the many outlets or relax by the seaside with an ice cream in hand as you summon the energy for the 10km ride back! Be sure to take in the scenery of Ben Boyd National Park and Merimbula Lake…bring your camera there will be many photo opportunities!
For the Experienced!
For the more adventurous and seasoned riders there are numerous tracks that take you beyond the townships of Merimbula. Add another 4km each way to the Odometer and travel to the Merimbula Aquarium!! From sharks to shrimp, octopus and tropical fish - it's all on display in this living theatre of the deep. On the way home stop for your picnic of course before you push those legs up and over nearby Bald Hills. This may be a challenge but the elevated views of rolling hills meeting blue ocean in the distance sure are worth it!
