JANUARY
Before the school holidays end, take the family on a summer holiday to Discovery Parks – Pambula Beach. APRIL
Bluesfest 2020 may have been cancelled but, Byron Bay’s wide open spaces are still wide open for business. Come stay at Discovery Parks – Byron Bay over the Easter long weekend (Thursday 9 April to Monday 13 April 2020) and soak up the family-friendly, natural hippie vibe of this region. Mellow out with a surf day at Watergos Beach, shopping at the community markets for local designer wares or hike to the lighthouse for stunning views of the ocean and hinterland. MAY
The weather is cooling down so time to start your winter adventure to the top end of Australia and chase the sun. Whether you’re driving the Big D (West to East) or Little d (through the middle to the west), you won’t want to bypass Discovery Parks – Broome to witness the natural phenomenon of Staircase to the Moon. This spectacular sight occurs from March to November where the full moon rises over Roebuck Bay to create the illusion of a ‘staircase’ leading from the beach directly to the moon. Just make sure you time your stay, as the ‘staircase’ is only visible during the full moon days of each month. Estimated May 2020 timings are Friday 8th at 6:21pm, Saturday 9th at 7:14pm and Sunday 10th at 8:10pm.

JUNE
It’s the last long weekend until October so make the most of it with a visit to the Apple Isle. While Dark Mofo Festival may have been cancelled for 2020, there are still heaps of reasons to cross Bass Strait and discover Tasmania with a road trip exploring national parks, rich wildlife, a thriving food and wine culture and contemporary art. JULY
In mid-July to late October, Hervey Bay provides one of the best vantage points to see humpback whales on their annual migration from Antarctica.
